About

No.1 William St is a delightful random stone cottage, built in the early 1850’s by Benjamin Bowyer from stone carried from the common in a crude wheelbarrow by his wife Mary Anne.

This cottage has been restored with care to retain its historical atmosphere and character while offering modern comforts. The cottage and William Street itself are recorded by the National Trust and are the located in Port Fairy’s historic precinct. The wharf, beach, restaurants and shops are all within easy walking distance.

The cottage contains three bedrooms, sitting room and large kitchen and is supplied with quality linen and supplies for continental breakfast.

Features that add to the cosy atmosphere and old world charm of No. 1 include the open fire and French doors to a private sheltered garden. Ideal for a romantic weekend or family holiday.

In the warmer months shelter from the heat in the protection of the cool stone walls. When the weather turns cooler, put your feet up in front of the open fire, listen to the wind whistle through the Norfolk pines and imagine how the Bowyer family lived in these rooms more than 165 years ago.

Pets permitted on request.
