For generations families have harvested the rich land and sea of the Moyne Shire Region. The Taste Trail Open Days creates a unique window for you to experience this delicious bounty straight from the makers, growers and producers – who are all opening their doors on the same day.

Collect your trail map and tote bag from the Port Fairy Visitor Information Centre before embarking on this delicious road trip to 14 local producers. This year, the event extends to Mortlake on Sunday 14 January, with the vibrant Mortlake Market showcasing local stalls and exclusive deals at Clarke’s Cafe. Set aside this Sunday morning for a scenic drive through the land that feeds us, pass the mighty harvesters at work and animals grazing before taking in Mortlake’s country charm.

Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes and just a stone’s throw away from the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Budj Bim Cultural landscape, Suffoir is your ultimate destination for a truly memorable craft beverage experience. 

Explore our estate-grown Pinot Noir, indulge in the delightful creations of The Three Alpacas beer range, and savor the distinct flavors of our handcrafted gins. This independent abalone farm is known for its Ocean Road Abalone brand and a commitment to innovation and sustainability since its beginnings in 1996 – one of Australia’s first abalone farms and just 5 minutes outside of Port Fairy.

The farm’s team of dedicated aquaculturists produce 120+ tonnes of premium green tiger abalone annually, in a range of sizes, sold live or processed locally into canned and vacuum-packed, ready-to-eat, gourmet goodness.

Ocean Road Abalone can be found at seafood markets, specialty grocers, restaurants and of course in home kitchens around Australia. The farm also exports to major abalone markets and sells through its online store.

Take a tour of this rare facility and discover why abalone is one of the most expensive and treasured delicacies in the world, before enjoying a catered tasting experience – yum!

Is it a noodle shop serving slurpable bowls of goodness? No, it’s a craft brewery and distillery created by two mates, Noodles (Sam) and Doof (Alex) who wanted to make quality craft beer and spirits that are exciting, adventurous and approachable.

Most of the beers are made in small batches so they have seasonal availability and can utilise what is good, when it’s at its best. For Noodledoof’s range of spirits, they have teamed up with Worn Gundidj Bush Foods, utilising their expert knowledge of the surrounding area.

Mepunga Wines is a small family operated boutique winery located on the Great Ocean Road, in Mepunga East, 20 minutes east of Warrnambool. We grow most of our grapes in Warrnambool and Mepunga, have a partnership with a Timboon grape grower and occasionally source grapes from the Grampians.

Our Single Vineyard wines are made in our winery, in a low-intervention way. We do not filter or fine our wines, which makes them vegan friendly. Most often we ferment with indigenous yeasts, in the aim of truly keeping each wine to reflect its environment of origin. We produce between 600 and 2000 bottles per year, mainly of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris,

Reisling, Sauvignon Blanc and small amounts of other varieties such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Enjoy meeting the Makers, free tastings and discounts when purchasing multiple bottles!

With a range of unique stalls, food, produce, art and crafts and live music, the monthly Mortlake Market is ready to welcome you! Markets take place every second Sunday of the month.

Railway Place, Port Fairy

The Port Fairy Community Market runs at Railway Place on the second and fourth Saturday of each month and weekly during January. It brings together a selection of locally grown and handmade products and produce. 

The large variety of quality stalls ensures there is something to tempt everyone. So, whether you are looking for a unique gift for someone special or a delicious treat for yourself, the markets are sure to please.
