About

Collagraphy (kolla = glue + graph = draw) is a printmaking technique where a collage is made on rigid substrate, sealed and used as a printing plate. You will learn how to construct collagraph plates by cutting into cardboard, applying various mediums and layering cutouts. The plates are then sealed with shellac. The next day we ink the plates and use a printing press to create multiple images with a variety of textures and tones.

Bio: Britt Gow is an artist and printmaker living on the volcanic plains of the Gunditjmara people. She uses a range of techniques, including linocut, drypoint, woodgrain printing and collagraphy to create images that often reference the local flora, fauna and natural environment. Britt is an experienced teacher and enjoys seeing participants develop their skills in printmaking.
