About

Jazz Musicians from across Australia are busting to share their talents in 100 plus bands performing in Port Fairy.

With music ranging from New Orleans style and classic trad groups, through to swing bands big and small, to ensembles of varying styles and instrumentation representing more recently minted jazz repertoire such as post-bop and contemporary.

As long as it includes some improvisation, it is considered jazz!

A number of groups involve vocalists who help to humanise the music for the uninitiated. No matter what style of jazz you identify with, or whether you identify with it at all, everyone can find music to suit their taste here. It’s also an ideal event to expand your jazz repertoire.

Some of Port Fairy’s historic buildings are converted into venues to accommodate concerts that run almost continuously throughout the weekend from Friday evening through to late Sunday afternoon.

In addition to the music, there are the magnificent food and coffee houses of the town and of course the superb beaches to relax at.
