About

Participants will be exposed to a range of art making techniques using ink, paint and collage as you explore line, shape, texture, composition and the aesthetics of mark making from a contemporary viewpoint.

‘Experimental Seascapes’ will be the starting position as you explore, experiment and loosen up your style as you learn to develop an idea. You will investigate the possibilities ‘working on paper’ has to offer. At the end of this workshop all participants will have complete artworks ready to frame!

Participants will walk away from this workshop feeling invigorated and bursting with new ideas as you explore materials, techniques and consolidate and refine your finished artworks.

Materials list for students to bring to the workshop:
One A3 watercolour pad – at least 300gsm in weight (available from the cheap shop).
Acrylic paints (primary colours will do).
Black ink (and other colours if you have them).
Glue.
Interesting textured papers you may have (ie textured wallpaper).
Vessel to hold water.
